Compliance Pro Small Business Available From the North Texas Small Business Development Center

 

Dallas, TX – February 29, 2000 – To dilute the complexities associated with human resources, Your Employment Risk Solutions, Inc. (YERS) announced today the availability of Compliance Pro Small Business a program specifically designed to meet the needs and answer the questions of small businesses employing less than fifteen employees.

Compliance Pro Small Business is a computerized program written in layman’s terms and provides practical employment/human resource guidance and counsel. Based on YERS flagship product Compliance Pro, the Small Business version makes available a user-friendly and practicable explanation of the laws and regulations that govern employment decisions/practices. The Small Business version also addresses many employment issues such as compensation, hiring/firing, workplace environment, etc.; explanation of how courts interpret the law; as well as practicable tips to avoid common mistakes made by companies.

Additionally, the program contains many common legal forms used to administer human resource practices including pre-/post-employment, insurance, harassment investigation, an Employee Policies, Health and Safety Manual, and more.

"Employment and Labor laws are saturated with intricacies and are extremely difficult to understand and decipher," said Maryah Sautter, president of YERS. "Small businesses need a resource that will provide clear explanations and guidance under the laws. Compliance Pro Small Business is that resource."

Compliance Pro Small Business version has been developed to include those components specifically needed by small businesses. For example, it does not contain chapters on the various federal anti-discrimination laws, which are covered in detail in the Federal Law version of Compliance Pro because these statutes do not apply to smaller companies. The program does recommend voluntary compliance dealing with the hiring process and the Americans With Disabilities Act for numerous reasons, which are outlined in the program.

In December 1999, the Plano SBDC introduced the Compliance Pro Federal Law (Compliance Pro) program to one of its members, Ms. Jessica Dixon a local attorney and principal with The MileStone Group, L.L.C., who provides human resource consulting services. Ms. Dixon found that Compliance Pro fit The MileStone Group’s mission to provide employers with products and services that pro-actively prevent potentially financial devastating litigation by employees. Ms. Dixon has purchased Compliance Pro for her consulting firm, as well as installed the program for one of her leading clients.

"I was thrilled when the Plano SBDC suggested that I try Compliance Pro. The many different laws and stipulations employers must follow can be a virtual nightmare," said Jessica Dixon, attorney and principal with The MileStone Group, L.L.C. "As an attorney, small businesses are not under as many liabilities as larger companies. However, having programs such as Compliance Pro and now Compliance Pro Small Business is a welcome resource."

Compliance Pro Small Business has been selected by the North Texas Small Business Development Center (SBDC) as one of the products they offer to owners and managers of small businesses and to those wanting to start a small business.
